Among the three of us, a love of technology and singing 80s & Classic Rock music has brought us together to pursue this family business. We are husband, wife and daughter team that started out several years ago hosting backyard karaoke parties with friends and family, a bunch of karaoke CDs and an all-in-one karaoke box. Boy, did it take a while to find the right CDs with the songs that were selected. With the addition of better technology, equipment and fun add-ons (who doesn't like fog machines and viewing and requesting songs from your mobile), we have evolved into Styx and Stones Mobile Karaoke. We'd love to share our love of singing the music with you by providing karaoke at your next event. Submit your information on our Contact Us page, email us directly at info@styxandstoneskaraoke.com or give us a call at (657) 263-5137.
What you can expect when you hire Styx & Stones Mobile Karaoke
Upon execution of the contract, a deposit of 20% of the full contract is due (50% for events with less than 2 week notice). The balance is due 7 days prior to the event (3 days for a Short Notice Contract).
Depending on the venue and its location or special circumstances, we may request to visit the venue prior to the event to better work with you on the set-up.
We will arrive 45-90 minutes ahead of the party time for set up. This will depend on the event package you choose, the venue, and the distance we have to travel.
We will need wireless internet because those clunky, difficult to see in the dark, beat up loose-leaf binders filled with page after page of songs are things of the past with Styx & Stones. If possible, let your guests know prior to the party to download the Songbooks Online app for their mobile phones. If that’s not possible, we have a sign and we’ll announce it before and during the show. Your guests will input their name and our Show ID. Then they’ll be able to search our song list and make song requests directly from their smart phones. We’ll even bring a touch screen kiosk on which they can search songs and make requests for those whose phones are low on charge or can’t fit another app.
During the show, we’ll be adjusting volume levels to make sure the singer can be heard, or is not too loud. If there’s a lull, we’ll encourage the guests by getting up and singing as well. If there’s a slow start, we’ll get things going by singing a song or two.
As we near the end of the party or the karaoke portion of the event, we’ll announce the time remaining for karaoke or that we can only accept a few more songs.
When the show time is complete, we’ll begin dismantling our equipment and packing it up. Depending on a number of factors, this could take as few as 30-45 minutes, or around 90 minutes depending on the event package and venue for the event.
That's all there is to it.
